It’s been quite a while since I wrote the last update in this blog. This was primarily because there is little or no photographic news from me. Nevertheless I want to use the New Year as an opportunity to post at least a few pictures of my trip to Scotland. The trip was already a few months ago, so I don’t want to write much about it, but the photos are nice memories.
After two and a half years of waiting, postponing, lame excuses and unexpected last minute delays I’m not sure if this is really real or if I passed away last night and woke up in a parallel universe of infinite possibilities. But a box arrived today and it says Lab-Box.
I’ll keep it short but it looks like it’s getting pretty cold in hell right now – the LabBox project seems to be shipping the final product. We’ll see how it goes and if it arrives. And if it’s working.

Once again there was a delay in Lab-Box’s communication updates and another promise wasn’t kept. Of course this belated update has the same old purpose that we already know too well – they are sorry but they have to tell us another unforseen delay in delievery and the scapegoat is clear: the Chinese!
No reason for premature celebrations but it looks like the Lab-Box development tank will one day become reality. The makers posted a new update here and they seem to have made some progress. And they encountered new issues, so hang on…
I see this as a first light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe someday we will see a finished product. Hang on.
After travelling to rather uncommon holiday places like Ukraine, Russia, China and Iran in the last few years we wanted to get a little bit more laid back and we decided to do a small roadtrip through the baltic countries Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in our two weeks of summer holidays in 2018. To most people these countries still are very uncommon compared to the super popular travel places in southern Europe so I’d like to share some impressions here.

After the few days in Holland we went to Germany’s Ruhrgebiet or as they call it the “Ruhrpott”. This area of Germany is famous for its open-cast mining and steelworks some of which are active to this day.
Being invited to a wedding in the “Ruhrgebiet” in Germany gave us a perfect excuse to take a whole week off.
I don’t even want to comment much on this any more but apparently they need another month before they are even able to tell us the delivery date. I bet by then they will find a new excuse why it will take another year or so.
